The Brief

For Canva Design Trends, we produce new templates and elements aligned with predicted trends. Working on the annual Trends campaign is an exciting time as all the art directors come together to conduct trend research in their respective crafts, translate those trend insights into a creative strategy and start building creative direction.
As Motion Art Director, I conducted research, built creative direction, and authored creative briefs to hand out to illustrators and motion designers. I also oversaw and managed the production of Motion Collections and ensured timely delivery so the elements could be incorporated into Canva templates.

Motion Collections
Collections produced for 2026 and 2025 Design Trends. To use the collections in Canva, search the setID of the collection on the 'Elements' tab in the Canva sidebar.
Some collections are Lotties or a JSON-based recolorable animation file format which makes them versatile in designs of any color palette, while other collections are GIFs and MP4s.
